The Mtuft is suitable for all constructions (including ColorPoint) gauges and stitch rates.
Yes, the new G2 Mtuft model uses Micro-Gauge to replicate ColorPoint constructions.
Micro-Gauge is used for ColorPoint type constructions and allows for a maximum of 6 rows to be tufted in the one gauge space. A maximum of 6 colours is possible.
Only 1 package or yarn per colour is required.
The Mtuft machine is available in three standard widths – 1m, 2m and 2.5m.
The Mtuft includes NedGraphics Vision Tuft Advanced Controller software. This software makes it possible to create or modify NedGraphics .tft Vision Tuft patterns. The design format/output format is Open Tuft Format (.OFT) only. The NedGraphics license is valid for 12 months from the date of installation. License renewals after the initial 12 months period has expired are managed directly by NedGraphics.
Note: The NedGraphics we supply on the Mtuft is not the complete version that the design department, for example, would use. It only has machine outputs to suit the Mtuft so it shouldn’t be considered that the Mtuft version of NedGraphics can used other than to run the Mtuft.
Yes. This means designs made with photoshop, illustrator or another graphics program can be run on the Mtuft.
The maximum speed for straight stitch varies from 20-30 stitches per second, depending on the machine model.
The maximum speed for shifted stitch is up to 10 stitches per second.
Depending on the model chosen, the pile height ranges from 4mm – 75mm.

A pegboard is the frame used to create a sample on the Kibby machine. It is an aluminum board with a series of holes. The number of holes in the X and Y directions dictate the density of the finished sample.
Pegboards for the older MK 1, 2 and 3 machines make a finished sample size of 450 x 450mm.
Pegboards for the newer G4, G5 and G6 machines make a finished sample size of 500 x 500mm.
With a single pegboard, the following types of construction are possible:

Single pegboards are available as 4mm, 6mm or 8mm thick. The pegboard thickness and the depth of shearing will determine the finished pile height.
Pegboard sizes are expressed as “holes per inch”. For example, a 7×8 pegboard will have 7 holes per inch in the X direction (horizontal) and 8 holes per inch in the Y direction (vertical). The number of holes in the X and Y directions dictate the density of the finished sample.
Woven: rows and columns are in straight lines. Used for all types of woven carpets including Axminster.
Fractional Stagger: This board means it is possible to sample higher density product. The boards are available as a 7×11, 7×12 and 7×13. The Fractional Stagger pegboards have the same hole size as a 7×10 pegboard, but the holes are staggered slightly. This means you can use the same size needle and yarn used as you would on a 7×10 board.
Tufted: Rows and columns are in lines but are irregular in hole placement to replicate the irregularity of tuft placement in tufted carpets. A five hole pattern repeat is used to achieve the random effect. Due to this, in both the X and Y directions, the number of holes must follow the geometric progression of 1,6,11,16,21,26 etc. The start row and column for a tufted pegboard must be either 1 or 6 or 11 or 16 or 26 etc.
Tapistron: Rows and columns are ion lines but are formatted in a grid of two inch wide ‘Z’ to simulate the unique action of the CYP Tapistron machine.
Staggered: Rows and columns are in lines but with a staggered placement of the holes in the rows. Use a staggered pegboard for woven samples requiring a high yarn density. When identifying a pegboard as staggered, the pattern is stretched in the Y direction.
Offset: This board looks identical to the Staggered pegboard, but when identified as an Offset pegboard in the Kibby software, the pattern is not stretched in the Y direction. An offset board can be used for woven samples requiring a high yarn density without stretching the pattern.
Yes, the maximum density is around 450 reed.
Most samples do not require additional shearing once the sample is removed from the pegboard. However, some yarn and patterns need additional shearing.

The answer to this will depend on how many colours and how complex the pattern is. However, a simple 2 colour design will take around 80 mins for a full board (500mm x 500mm sample size, Kibby model G5.300 & G6.300, 7×8 Axminster). The Kibby G5.200 model will make the same pattern in around 1.5 hours.
