Modra’s Hollow Needle Mtuft enables you to control multiple yarns through a single, hollow needle to create uniquely patterned rugs and broadloom carpets.

Its interface lets you enter simple patterns and needle-shift profiles quickly and easily or import more complex patterns in a range of formats.

  • Powerful software to control gauge, stitch rate and pile heights
  • Loop pile construction only
  • Two machine sizes – 4m or 5m product width
  • Yarn is fed through a single, hollow needle. It can be either single yarn feed or dual yarn feed
  • Touch screen interface with Microsoft windows OS
  • End out detection system for end outs as well and yarn wraps as well as individual sensors for yarn break detection
  • Rear take-up roller

  • Developed as a production machine, suitable for rugs and broadloom
  • Single needle machine, up to 4 ends of yarn at once. This gives you the opportunity to mix different yarns – wool and silk for example, to create a unique product.
  • Final product has more of a hand-made, custom feel to it
  • Copes very well with course yarn and large gauges and will be faster than the Mtuft
  • Unique patterns possible using multiple pile heights, shift effects, tip shearing,
  • Utilise yarn that might otherwise be waste – leftover from larger product runs
  • Suitable for course yarn and large gauges
